My fat world was very different than it is now. That world is much more familiar and it’s an adjustment stepping out of it (again). Thank goodness for therapy. The memories are humiliating.

Why the Broken Heart?
Besides Type 2 Diabetes, my broken feet have directed much of my life. I’ve broken them trying to lose weight several times and sometimes just from walking at over 350 pounds. This makes me sad, all the journeys I have missed until now. I hope things are permanently changing this time.
Decluttering… More Than Just My Closet

Food Aversion from GLP-1 Medications
I was surprised by food aversions after my RNY Gastric Bypass. While I didn’t expect it with the GLP-1 medications, I wasn’t totally surprised. But the alcohol aversion? I had not heard of that and was shocked. Now I know that is fairly common and the meds are being studied to help with other compulsions as well. Do you have any new food aversions with your tirzepatide or semaglutide?
GLP-1/GIP Eating’s a New Game
When it comes to any major health gain/weight loss, eating is going to be different. Here, I compare the different kinds of eating after an RNY Gastric Bypass and while on GLP-1 medications.
GLP-1 & Psych Meds
With Bipolar 1, I am well-versed in taking psych meds with obesity treatments… RNY Gastric Bypass and now with GLP-1/GIP. This is MY experience with the combinations. It’s important to know there are a wide range of possibilities one might have with their meds. As always, you and your psychiatrist can work together to create the right prescription for your best mental health.
