On April 22, 2022, I weighed 405 pounds.
Today, December 3, 2023, I weigh 235.
With the weight loss has come amazing health gains. I find they are symbiotic. I know that health gains, for me, would not have come without weight loss. So is this a chicken and egg conundrum?
My Six-Week Stall
When I stopped Trulicity in August 2023, I weighed 279. Starting Mounjaro September 7, 2023, I zoomed down to 252 by October 14. Then it stalled. I didn’t have a scale yet, so it might have been earlier, but that’s the date I have so we’ll use it. I slowly went down to 244 on Halloween after sliding up and down around 250. 250 is a weight I’ve spent time in the earlier years of my adult life. I was 249 on November 23, then the weight started moving down again.
A week later, I was 240. It’s now December 3 and I am 235. That’s down 14 pounds in 10 days. I really think I am just catching up. Well, I have been walking more, eating more protein, and added a good exercise band routine to my days. (I watch Elderly, Beginning Band Exercise videos on YouTube. They’re great!)
Iron Still Low
I’m out of town at the moment, but when I get back I have to have another round of three iron infusions in one week. My Iron Saturation is horrible at 10. Well, up from 9… that’s better, right? This has nothing to do with GLP-1 medications, but it has everything to do with the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass I had in 2001.

What a fun ride this is!
I have more labs drawn mid-February. Can’t wait to see how those are!
