I had my Endocrinologist appointment yesterday and I was moved up to 15 mg. of Mounjaro. I’m thrilled!
After nearly two months going up and down within ten pounds of 255, I am ready to get off this plateau. I am aware there will be a day when the plateau is my new norm, but I don’t feel like I am there quite yet. Within 50 more pounds, though. I think I am kind of close.
While I lost 40 pounds in four months on my own and then another 86 during the year on Trulicity, I’ve only been on the Mounjaro since Sept. 7, 2023 and my stall started Sept. 30, 2023. Let’s hope the 15 mg kick-starts things again.
What I’m Doing
I’m not just sitting on my tuchus (Yiddish for behind) twiddling my thumbs. I’m up walking outside several times a day. I do not count steps because it would make me crazy. I do know it is miles more than I have walked in decades. I’m happy with my progress and keep walking further each day.
I also got myself a set of resistance bands and have been using those, too. It feels good to pull and tug those things! My back feels great.
I’m also eating really well. Lots of protein, stopping when full, not eating crap-food. And I have upped my water to 120+ ounces a day.
Yes, Yes… Labs Are Still Important
While my HbA1c is a delightful 5.1, my fasting glucoses are still between 115-135 every morning. The Endo reminded me that is an Insulin Resistance response in my liver. The Mounjaro should eventually help level that out to a more normal fasting of 70-90. My kidneys also need the GLP-1’s help.
