Besides Type 2 Diabetes, my broken feet have directed much of my life. I’ve broken them trying to lose weight several times and sometimes just from walking at over 350 pounds. This makes me sad, all the journeys I have missed until now. I hope things are permanently changing this time.

Decluttering… More Than Just My Closet
When I changed my life’s trajectory with food changes, then GLP-1s, I didn’t think of allll the changes to come. Medications have fallen away as quickly as my clothes have gotten way too big. It’s so much fun to experience all these changes!
GLP-1 Pregnancy Worries
As a former midwife, I’ve been thinking a lot about the GLP-1 medications and pregnancy. There is not enough information out there yet to determine what might and what will happen when the meds are removed from a pregnant woman. I think this is something to seriously consider for women who are becoming fertile from these amazing medications.
Having a Hard Time
Even when things are going so well, some of my health is still compromised from my Obesity and my RNY Gastric Bypass. It’s frustrating when things seem to be going so well. I’ll just keep swimming, swimming, swimming.
Disordered Eating Knows No Bounds

GLP-1 Food Ideas for Manufacturers
I’ve been thinking about what size foods I will need in my Mounjaro future and thought I would share here. I know these things are going on all over the world in food manufacturing boardrooms, so I thought I’d toss my pint-size ideas in, too.
GLP-1 Proselytizing
I have a compulsion to tell people about my new “religion”: GLP-1 medications. I work hard to keep my mouth shut unless I see the perfect opening. This time I did.
Food Aversion from GLP-1 Medications
I was surprised by food aversions after my RNY Gastric Bypass. While I didn’t expect it with the GLP-1 medications, I wasn’t totally surprised. But the alcohol aversion? I had not heard of that and was shocked. Now I know that is fairly common and the meds are being studied to help with other compulsions as well. The Easy Way to Lose Weight?
If you had the choice between walking to New York City or driving… would you “take the easy way out?” Me, too. I could go on with the analogy, but you get the gist. And shouldn’t we ALL have the right to save our lives? I say, “YES!”
The Fatter You Are…
We all lose weight at a different pace. What’s challenging is we can’t see the changes inside as readily and all we have to go by is what is on the scale. Be patient!
This Is All Too Familiar: GLP-1s vs. RNY
Reading about the concerns or worries of those taking the GLP-1 medications like Mounjaro, Ozempic, and the others, I am seeing them as incredibly similar to when one has Bariatric Surgery. I had an RNY Gastric Bypass in 2001 and here are the comparisons to that and the new health and weight loss medications.
GLP-1 Haters, Beware
When we begin the health and weight loss experience, the haters come out of the woodwork. They need to migrate back in because this is OUR choice… with the help of our care providers. It’s no one’s business to tell you you are wrong or bad or lazy when you take Mounjaro, Zepbound, Ozempic, Wegovy, or any other GLP-1. This is OUR lives. Not theirs. Let’s LIVE!
